As a Creative Technologist, I led the design engineering work on the MakeIT team, an incubation within the office of the CTO. The team was tasked with exploring strategies for how Microsoft can engage with the maker community. On the team, I created and maintained open-source tools, including the Arduino extension for VSCode, which received over 700,000 new downloads during my stewardship. I developed and wrote project walkthroughs; for example, while working with Adafruit Industries and Lobe.ai, I designed a machine learning Raspberry Pi hardware kit and its accompanying walkthroughs. The kit led to a continued strategic partnership with Adafruit. In my role, I also advised the CTO and other teams across the company. Much of my work at Microsoft is protected by NDAs, but I’d be happy to share more about my projects and insights over coffee—just reach out!
